Now Hamilton linked to Ferrari seat after his father visits Maranello

According to reports in Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Lewis Hamilton's Father, Anthony Hamilton, has visited Ferrari's Maranello headquarters this week.

Even though his father no longer manages his career, Lewis was quoted in Hungary saying that he has been in close contact with his father recently. The newspaper said that Anthony visited Ferrari for a “private meeting”, and the talks continued at dinner in the famous Montana restaurant in Maranello.

Another publication, Autosprint, poked fun at the Hamilton-at-Ferrari reports.

“Maybe he wanted to propose himself for Massa’s place? Or maybe he just wants to buy a 458?”

Anthony Hamilton was famously sacked by Force India driver Paul di Resta as manager last year, and also used to manage his son's career till 2010.

With the silly season well underway, Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport mentioned Jenson Button as a possible 2014 Ferrari driver.

Red Bull’s Christian Horner took it one notch further and is quoted in Dutch reports as proposing the 1992 World Champion: “Nigel Mansell is a very good driver. Why not Nigel?”
